Looks like I’m not the only one who’s been busy. HEYOOOO!
Yep, the universe’s most blessed couple is expecting a bundle of joy! I felt it was appropriate to edit Elitist Fetus as such – doesn’t it already have the royal sneer down? Also, is that the right color for an umbilical cord? Actually no – I don’t want to know that until I absolutely HAVE to.
I don’t have much to share at the moment – I’ve got some creative projects underway that are going to hit this blog harder than a certain woman-abusing rapper, but those things aren’t at the sharing stage yet.
BUT! It’s also December now, which means taking on lots of tiny festive projects. Here’s the setup I’ve made around the tree:
I think we’ve discussed my fabric/craft supply hoarding habits, but this is the time of year where it really comes in handy. This little tree-topper only took 15 minutes and I made him using scraps! He’s a little lopsided, but I like that he looks like a stoned Wall-E.
I had a great opportunity last week that I just have to share. After college I volunteered for 826LA, a nonprofit that’s dedicated to writing education for young people. They do free after school tutoring for kids who need it and one of the ways that they fund the program is through a novelty shop called the “Time Travel Mart.” Whether you’re looking for robot emotion chips or mammoth chunks, it’s the place to be.
I painted a calendar for them in their old tutoring space and they liked it so much that when they were opening up a second location for the Time Travel Mart, they asked me to help them with a chalkboard. We ended up scrapping the original design and went with this:

They had the perfect color of paint on hand, so all I had to do was show up and have fun getting crafty.
If you have spare time on your hands and live near a major metropolitan area, I highly encourage you to check out 826national.org to see how you can get involved. I’ve done general office intern work, helped with after school tutoring, done a bit of book design, and (of course) painting too! Whatever your talent might be, 826 can find a way to use it.
That’s all for now – what have you been working on lately? I’ve been making an effort to infuse my love of art/crafts into my daily life a little more and this is an easy time of year to do just that.

Sooo you’re with child?
The only baby I’m carrying is a food baby.
It’s taco bell.
I regret it.
I hope it was an easy labor and birth :/
Haha. I just found your blog and I love it! That little star tree topper is the bees knees!
